Apply for a U.S. Entry Waiver

Why Do I Need A U.S. Entry Waiver?

A U.S. Entry Waiver is an entry permit that allows you to travel to the United States without restrictions. You require a U.S. Entry Waiver if you fall into one of the following categories:

  1. You have a criminal record in Canada and thus have been denied entry to the United States, or you simply want to avoid being denied entry.
  2. You have a criminal record in the United States and now live in Canada.
  3. You have been banned from the United States because of staying there illegaly or overstaying the time that you were allotted.

Simply put, if you have been denied entry into the United States, or if you have a criminal past, you will not be able to enter the U.S. in the future unless you can present a valid U.S. Entry Waiver.

If you have recently been denied entry to the United States and you need to travel for a vacation, business or a family/medical emergency, please call our office for a free consultation.

You can speak directly to an experienced professional; every agent has processed many thousands of successful Waivers and can give you clarity based on having helped many individuals with a very similar situation to yours.

How Do I Apply for a U.S. Entry Waiver

A U.S. Entry Waiver aplication is a complex process that requires the applicant to complete the following steps:

  1. Complete and analyze a nationwide fingerprint search
  2. Complete biographical information (Form G-325A)
  3. Compile and filter police records and court documents for each charge and conviction
  4. Gather and assess several character references
  5. Provide compelling proof of rehabilitation and good conduct
  6. Complete Form I-212 (if you have already been denied entry to the U.S.A.)

Technically speaking, any individual can gather the above criteria and submit their application to the Department of U.S. Homeland Security at  the U.S. border. Unfortunately, most people that attempt this on their own or with an inexperienced company, have their application denied and lose their submission and application fees. This is primarily due to two reasons:

  1. The administrative paperwork has an error. (This error can be as simple as a date that is incorrect by a single digit/day.)
  2. The qualitative part of the application has not met the expectations of the Department of U.S. Homeland Security. The officer at U.S. Homeland Security that reviews your file looks for very specific requirements when reviewing your statements. This set of three statements should essentially provide a compelling argument that convinces the official that you deserve a US. Entry Waiver. This is the most difficult portion of the application, and it is the one that requires the most expertise.

The difficulty of this aspect of a Waiver application is also the reason why many of the people we help have already had their application denied after having chosen to do their own application or hire an inexperienced company for a lower price.

In this situation, you end up spending considerably more time and money than if you would have initially opted for quality service.

This is because you have already lost the processing and submission fees with your first failed attempt, and now you are paying a second round of fees that are often higher because the argument made in your application to U.S. Homeland Security needs to be more compelling in order to overcome the barrier of your previous rejection.

This is why if travelling to the United States is a priority for you, it is recommended that you do not take any risks with your U.S. Waiver application. To avoid losing time and money, it is recommended that you have a team of experts handle your file, who have already processed many thousands of Waiver applications successfully.

When you deal with an experienced team of professionals, you not only maximize your chances of obtaining your U.S. Waiver, but you also have the greatest likelihood of being granted a more valuable Waiver. What exactly does this mean?

What are you looking for?

How long will my waiver last?

The Department of U.S. Homeland Security is the organization in the United States that reviews your U.S. Waiver Application and ultimately decides whether or not to grant you your Waiver. If you are approved, you can receive a Waiver that will be valid for anywhere from six months to five years. Once your Waiver expires, you must submit a new application, and once again pay the processing and submission fee.

This is one of the main reasons why it is so important to submit an optimal U.S. Waiver Application the first time around:

The quality of your application is a large factor which helps determine the length of your U.S. Entry Waiver. Obviously, the administrative paperwork must be filled out perfectly with zero errors. More importantly however, the argument made to U.S. Homeland Security on your behalf, must be very compelling in order for you to obtain a five year Waiver. At this point, you will have unrestricted travel to the United States for five years, without having to pay any additional submission or processing fees.

This is yet another reason why trusting your application in the hands of a truly experienced team, is critical to saving you time, money and hassles. The more experienced the team that is working for you, the more compelling of an application will be submitted on your behalf, and the longer your Waiver will be valid for.
